Regular Expression Matching Method in Deep Packet Inspection and Apparatus Therefore

Disclosed are a method for matching a regular expression in deep packet analysis and an apparatus thereof. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the method for matching a regular expression comprises the steps of: receiving a regular expression pattern; converting the received regular expression pattern into a preset automata; converting the converted automata into a combination of predefined templates; and realizing the combination of the converted templates into reconfigurable hardware level cells in real time. When converting into the automata, the received normal expression pattern may be converted into a non-deterministic finite automata.
