A method and apparatus for supporting terminal mobility using a hierarchical distributed hash table are disclosed. According to an embodiment, a method for providing mobility includes registering an entry related to the terminal in a layer designated by a network access switch to which the terminal is connected among a plurality of layers constituting a hierarchical distributed hash table (HDHT). And processing a handover of the terminal by using the item, wherein the hierarchical distributed hash table is configured of the plurality of hierarchies based on a physical distance between the network access switches.
