The present invention relates to an automatic smoke ventilator opening and closing apparatus capable of automatically opening or closing a sliding smoke ventilator by moving the smoke ventilator forward and backwards along a window frame rail. According to the present invention, the apparatus includes: a fixing base; a screw rod placed on the fixing base in a rotation structure and including a spiral transfer groove formed on the outer edge; an operator penetrated by the screw rod to be moved laterally along the spiral transfer groove by the normal and reverse rotation of the screw rod, and connected to a smoke ventilator through a connection piece; and a normal-and-reverse rotation motor rotating the screw rod normally or reversely. The operator includes: an internal bush including a guide hole penetrated by the screw rod; and an external bush surrounding the outer surface of the internal bush in a concentric structure. A plurality of steel ball holes penetrating a lateral surface are formed in the internal bush, and a steel ball rolling against the spiral transfer groove of the screw rod is inserted into each of the steel ball holes. Therefore, the operator is formed to open or close the smoke ventilator by moving laterally along the screw rod while rolling against the spiral transfer groove of the screw rod rotated normally and reversely through the steel ball.
