The present invention relates to a method for regenerating a carbon dioxide absorbent. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method for absorbing carbon dioxide using an amine-based carbon dioxide absorbent and regenerating the absorbent using a metal oxide catalyst. In the method for regenerating the carbon dioxide absorbent using metal oxide catalyst ZrO_2 of the present invention, an acidic point present on the surface of the metal oxide promotes the decomposition of the absorbent absorbing carbon dioxide and carbamate in which the carbon dioxide is bound to remove the carbon dioxide from the absorbent, and it is possible to regenerate the absorbent with regeneration heat lower than that of the conventional absorbent, thereby regenerating the absorbent and capturing carbon dioxide at a low cost with high efficiency.
