NARROWBAND FILTER WITH HIGH TRANSMITTANCE

Various embodiments of the present application relate to an image sensor including a narrowband filter having a high transmittance and a narrowband filter. In some embodiments, filters include a first distributed Bragg reflector (DBR), a second DBR, a defect layer between the first DBR and the second DBR, and a plurality of columnar structures. The columnar structures are extended through the defect layer and have refractive indexes different from a refractive index of the defect layer. The first DBR and the second DBR define a low transmission band, and the defect layer defines a high transmission band that divides the low transmission band. The columnar structures shift the high transmission band towards a lower or higher wavelength depending on the refractive indexes of the columnar structures and filling rates of the columnar structures.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
