The present invention relates to a system for providing a taxi-designated driver matching service capable of picking up a designated driver by using a taxi, and a driving method thereof. The system comprises: a pickup request transmission unit which transmits a pickup request of a registered designated driver to a taxi driver terminal waiting for a call within a predetermined radius range from the location of a designated driver terminal when a taxi call request is received from the designated driver terminal carried by the designated driver; a notification message transmission unit which transmits, to the designated driver terminal, a response reception notification message and responsive taxi information when a response to the pickup request is received from the taxi driver terminal; a fare calculation unit which calculates the taxi fare according to a designated driver pickup price system when the designated driver arrives at the destination by boarding the responsive taxi; and a payment processing unit which processes a payment so that the registered driver pays, to the taxi driver, the taxi fare calculated according to the designated driver pickup price system. The system for providing a taxi-designated driver matching service capable of picking up a designated driver by using a taxi allows a designated driver and a taxi to help mutual income (sharing economy) and thus, facilitates supplies of a designated driver and taxi service to promote passenger′s convenience.
