The present disclosure relates to a method and apparatus for reducing data loss in a mobile communication system. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for reducing data loss of a terminal in a mobile communication system comprises the steps of: transmitting a terminal capability to an access and mobility management function (AMF) through a base station; receiving a network capability from the AMF through the base station; and processing a bearer or PDU session according to a mapping result of the PDU session and an evolved packet system (EPS) bearer of the AMF or a session management function (SMF).
