Non-human large ape adenovirus nucleic acid-sequences and amino acid-sequences, vectors comprising the same and uses thereof

The present invention relates to a novel adenovirus strain that is highly immunogenic in the general population and lacks preexisting immunity. The absence of preexisting immunity is due to the novel hypervariable regions of the adenovirus capsid protein hexon. The new adenovirus strains also improved their proliferative capacity. The present invention provides nucleotide and amino acid sequences of these novel adenovirus strains, as well as recombinant viruses, virus-like particles and vectors based on these strains. Further provided are pharmaceutical compositions and medical uses in the treatment or prevention of diseases, and methods of making adenovirus or virus-like particles using novel sequences, recombinant viruses, virus-like particles, and vectors.
