The thermally triggered assembly for remote mechanical operation of other fire protection system components includes an active component with a base and a movable member. The biasing member biases the movable member from the pre-activation position to the activation position relative to the base. The thermally responsive component retains the movable member in the pre-activation position until certain thermodynamic conditions are achieved when the thermally responsive component loses structural integrity. The flexible connection has a flexible hollow outer cable housing with one end configured to be fixedly (preferably attached) to the base. The flexible cable is located within the outer cable housing for sliding movement within them, and has one end configured to be fixedly (preferably attached) to the movable member. The flexible cable is moved relative to the outer cable housing by the movement of the movable member when the structural integrity due to the heat-responsive component is always lost.
