Disclosed are an electronic device for transmitting an image by using a multiple wireless network and a control method thereof. The electronic device for receiving and playing content of the present invention comprises a processor that controls a communication part to receive a signal including original data of content from an external device through a buffer, the communication part and a main frequency band, receive a connection state signal including information about the original data through at least one sub-frequency band, and transmit a response signal including information about at least one of whether the original data is missing and a buffer amount to the external device through the at least one sub-frequency band.
