Devices and methods for accessing the left atrium for cardiac procedures

Systems, devices, and methods for providing access to the heart are presented. The system includes an intracardiac access device, and the intracardiac access device includes an elongated member having a channel extending between the distal end and the proximal end. The intracardiac access device is configured to advance through the pericardial penetration within the left atrial wall without penetrating the pericardium of the heart. The optional surgical device is configured to advance through the channel of the intracardiac access device to the ventricle of the heart and is configured to perform a surgical procedure in the chamber of the heart. The working channel of the optional costume-access device is configured to facilitate access of the intra-cardiac access device to the patient's body by providing a path from the sup- port opening to a location adjacent to the loop of the left atrium.
