An intelligent mold layout design method based on a 3D CAD according to the present invention includes: storing, by a modeling DB unit, a part-3D model library in which a plurality of part-3D models including 3D property information are registered, a product-3D model corresponding to a product to be produced, 2D layout information which is information about 2D layout generated when performing modeling, and 3D model information generated based on the 2D layout information; calling, by a modeling interface unit, the product-3D model and the part-3D model library, arranging one surface of the selected part-3D model on a 2D plane among the plurality of part-3D models, and generating a 2D layout on the 2D plane using the 3D property information; generating, by a 2D layout engine unit, a 2D mold layout which is a 2D layout for the mold by using the 2D layout information; and generating, by a 3D modeling engine unit, a 3D model for the mold by using the 2D mold layout. Therefore, 2D mold layout design under 3D environment is performed and 3D mold automatic design is automatically generated through the designed 2D mold layout.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
