Provided are a method for enhancing the durability of a solid state drive by using a host memory and a device therefor. The method for enhancing the durability of a solid state drive comprises the steps of: scanning memory units of a solid state drive to obtain statistics for the memory units accessed by a host; comparing host access statistics obtained while scanning the memory units of the solid state drive with threshold values; and relocating data from the scanned memory units of the solid state drive to a host non-volatile memory, when one of the statistics for the memory units exceeds the threshold values.
