Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication in which multiple reference signal processes may be configured for multiple slots in a radio frame are described, and a corresponding reference signal process for each slot is the slot in the radio frame. May be based at least in part on the location of and the number of configured reference signal processes. An indication indicating the presence or absence of reference signal transmission in a slot may be provided to the user equipment (UE) in each slot.
