Disclosed are an electronic terminal device having a touch screen capable of performing a typo correction process on an input character and an operation method thereof. The present invention provides a typo error processing technique capable of correcting a typo that may occur in a boundary area adjacent to a consonant keyboard and a vowel keyboard when inputting a consonant or a vowel when a user enters a character through a virtual keyboard of the electronic terminal device having a touch screen so that the user can conveniently use the electronic terminal device having a touch screen. The electronic terminal device having a touch screen comprises: a virtual keyboard display part; a first touch point checking part; a vowel keyboard checking part; and a first typo correction processing part.
