Disclosed are a device for recommending user-customized news based on emotions by using an artificial intelligence speaker and a method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the device for recommending user-customized news based on emotions by using an artificial intelligence speaker comprises: a sound collection part collecting sound through an artificial intelligence speaker; a sound source identification part analyzing the characteristics of the collected sound and identifying a source of the sound; an interest keyword acquisition part acquiring interest keywords by analyzing interests of a user in a predetermined manner according to the source of the sound; and a customized news selection part collecting news contents on the Internet based on the interest keywords to select customized news corresponding to the interests of the user.
