Method and system for providing relevant season series recording functionality

Systems and methods for scheduling season recording are provided herein. A series is provided to a user device, the series has multiple sequential seasons, and each season has multiple episodes. A request is received from the user to record the series. In response, the last episode of the series watched by the user is identified. The relevant season of the plurality of seasons is then determined such that the relevant season precedes the other of the plurality of seasons and includes the last episode watched by the user. Subsequently, episodes of the relevant season following the last episode watched by the user are scheduled to record so that episodes of the season preceding the relevant season are not scheduled to record.
