Disclosed are a stainless steel containing boron with excellent hot workability and tensile properties and a manufacturing method thereof, which can guarantee a neutron shielding performance by containing boron, and can suppress generation of hyper-eutectic boride precipitates by adding cobalt, thereby improving hot workability and tensile properties. To this end, the stainless steel containing boron with excellent hot workability and tensile properties is characterized by comprising: 0.15 wt% or less of C; 2.0 wt% or less of Mn; 1.0 wt% or less of Si; 18-20 wt% of Cr; 12-15 wt% of Ni; 0.20-2.75 wt% of B; 3-10 wt% of Co; and the balance being Fe and other inevitable impurities.
