Emotional recognition system and method based on face images

Disclosed are a system for recognizing emotion based on a face image to output an emotion recognition result of the face of a person and a method thereof. According to the present invention, the system comprises: a face recognition database; a face recognition system; and an emotion recognition system linked with the face recognition database, receiving a face image of a target person, extracting facial feature points from the received face image, and providing a feature point-based emotion recognition result and an image-based emotion recognition result generated from an image patch adjacent to the feature points to output a final emotion recognition result of the face of the target person.
