Embodiments of the present invention provide: a phase-fixed phase transition material which comprises: a phase transition material having a prescribed crystalline phase; and a doping layer formed of a nanocrystalline doping agent grown heteroepitaxially on the phase transition material, wherein the difference between the lattice constant for two crystal axes of the nanocrystalline doping agent and the difference between the lattice constant of two crystal axes of the phase transition material is 25% or less; and a method for phase fixation of the phase transition material. By fixing the phase of the phase transition material to a prescribed phase, it is possible to utilize physical properties of the phase.
