Disclosed is a method of evaluating formability of a bulk metallic material. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method of evaluating formability of a bulk metallic material comprises the steps of: preparing a specimen of a bulk metallic material having V-shaped notches at upper and lower parts thereof, a center model with the upper and lower V-shaped notches symmetrical and an offset module with the upper and lower V-shaped notches asymmetric; performing a shear test to apply a vertical load to each model specimen by using a jig so as to induce a break in the upper and lower V-shaped notches of each model specimen at the forming limit; measuring a displacement according to the vertical load of each model specimen until each model specimen is broken by induction of breakage; performing finite element analysis based on the measured displacement according to the vertical load of each model specimen so as to derive strain and triaxial stress of each model specimen at the time of breakage; and predicting a forming limit diagram of the bulk metallic material based on the derived strain and triaxial stress of each model specimen. According to an embodiment of the present invention, formability of the bulk metallic material can be more accurately and reliably evaluated.
