The present invention relates to a template providing device for providing a body template to develop clothing and a control method thereof. The template providing device includes: a display, a user input unit, and a memory for storing a plurality of body templates; and a processor. When receiving a clothing image for the target consumer and the age of the target consumer through the user input unit, the processor selects one of a plurality of body templates based on the age, extracts both end points of a shoulder and both end points of a wrist from the clothing image, enlarges or reduces the clothing image so that the distance between the shoulder end points matches the biacromial width of the body template, calculates an angle between a reference line and a line connecting any one of the both end points of the shoulder and any of the end points of the wrist, rotates the arms of the body template to correspond to the angle, and controls the display so that the body template with the arms rotated is displayed while overlapping on the enlarged or reduced clothing image about the end points of the shoulder.
