New 7xxx series aluminum alloys are described herein. The alloy exhibits high strength. The alloys can be used in a variety of applications, including automotive, transportation, electronics, aerospace, and industrial applications. Methods of making and treating the alloys are also described herein. A method of producing a metal sheet is also described herein, the method comprising casting an aluminum alloy described herein to form an ingot, homogenizing the ingot, and hot rolling the ingot to produce a hot band. And cold rolling the hot band to a metal sheet of the final gauge.
