The present invention relates to a low power wideband optical receiver using transconductance boosting technology. The optical receiver of the present invention comprises: a pre-amplification unit that amplifies and converts the photocurrent input from the photodiode unit into a voltage signal to output a voltage output signal; a transconductance boosting unit boosting the transconductance of the pre-amplification unit as much as the voltage gain of the pre-amplification unit; a reference bias unit outputting a reference bias signal corresponding to the current flowing through the preamplifier unit; a post-amplification unit that amplifies the voltage output signal while maintaining the bandwidth to output an output signal of a size capable of digital signal processing; and an output buffer unit to lower the DC level of the output signal.
