The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, alleviating or treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and a method for manufacturing the same. More specifically, the present invention relates to: a composition for preventing, alleviating or treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease containing a Coix lacryma-jobi sprout extract, which has remarkably excellent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects to remarkably reduce inflammatory cytokines increased by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, as an active component; and a method for manufacturing the composition.
