The present invention relates to a driving safety system using the heart rate of a driver which can practically promote driving safety. The driving safety system using the heart rate of a driver comprises: a heartbeat sensor (110) to measure the heart rate of a driver; a determination unit (130) to classify a state of the driver as a normal state, a drowsy state, and an excited state based on the heart rate of the driver; and a control unit (140) to play music by an audio unit (160) if the driver is in the drowsy state or in the excited state based on the state of the driver determined by the determination unit (130), and control to visually notify the driver of the state of the driver determined by the determination unit (130) by the display unit (170).
