An external carbon source composition of the present invention comprises a saccharide liquid and a denitrification catalyst, preferably comprises a saccharide liquid, a denitrification catalyst, and a denitrification reinforcing agent, and more preferably comprises a saccharide liquid, a denitrification catalyst, a denitrification reinforcing agent, and a cryoprotectant. According to the present invention, the external carbon source composition is used for wastewater treatment in a range of nitrate nitrogen concentrations, provides excellent handling and storing features, reduces a use amount of glucose when used in the wastewater treatment of a low nitrate nitrogen concentration, and provides a denitrification performance which is equal to or higher than methanol when used in the wastewater treatment of a high nitrate nitrogen concentration.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
