A method of manufacturing a lightweight, high-strength vehicle part by press-molding a light metal sheet after solution heating is introduced. The light metal sheet is heated by an improved method and the productivity of the process is improved. The light metal sheet is heated through at least three sections with different heating conditions. The sheet is rapidly heated to less than 90% of the solution temperature in the first section, heated above the solution temperature in the second section, and slowly cooled in the third section.
