The ride vehicle 10 includes a base 16 configured to move through the attraction environment 12 and a spear 14 engaged with the base 16 and one or more ride seats 20 disposed therein. One or more ride seats 20 are coupled to the top surface 128 of the platform 18 disposed within the sphere 14. The ride vehicle 10 also includes a spear drive system 42 of the base 16 configured to engage the outer surface 55 of the spear 14 to rotate the spear 14 relative to the base 16. The upper surface 128 of the platform 18 is configured such that the sphere drive system 42 remains substantially horizontal while rotating the sphere 14.
