A medical device for cleaning a patient's wound is provided. The device includes a tube having a proximal portion configured to receive the cleaning solution, a distal portion with a nozzle and an intermediate portion for conveying the solution. The tube has a barrel portion that may be manipulated by the user to position the device relative to the wound site. The unique nozzle has a body formed with a channel leading to a distal portion providing a hemispherical first space structure and an opening leading to a proximal portion formed in a body providing a second space structure intersecting the hemispherical end point. This geometry, derived from the principles of flow mechanics discussed herein, defines what is described as the “effective diameter” of the nozzle. Also disclosed are assemblies and systems that utilize such devices. The present invention utilizes a durable fluid sequestration communication pump for continuous flow of cleaning solution in conjunction with a set of disposable tubes using such a device.
