Methods and structures for forming conductive structures, such as electrical circuits or portions of electrical circuits, can include the use of a thermal print head and a ribbon comprising a carrier and a metal layer. The thermal print head is used to print a first portion of the metal layer onto the sacrificial print medium. The printed first portion has a first pattern, wherein the second portion with the second pattern remains on the carrier. The first pattern is an inverted image of at least a portion of the electrical circuit, while the second pattern includes at least a portion of the electrical circuit. The second portion with the second pattern is transferred to the circuit board and can then be used as an electric circuit.
