A system for querying a federated data store includes a metadata knowledge graph describing content and relationships between one or more underlying data stores, an interactive user interface for receiving requests from data consumers, and an underlying data store. A predefined constrainable query (''nodegroup'') store containing predefined constrainable queries that define a subset of the data of interest across one or more, as well as create and run queries against the federated data store and return the response results. A knowledge-driven query layer that merges, a scalable analytics execution layer that receives search results from a federated data store and analyzes the results by applying machine learning/artificial capabilities technology, and a user presenting visualizations of raw or analyzed results to consumers.
