Disclosed are a document editing server that enables web-based document joint editing based on an entity identifier, and a method of operating the same. The present invention determines whether or not the editing action simultaneously occurs in each user terminal is collided based on the entity identifier of each entity inserted in the document, and reflects the editing action on the document based on the determination result of the collision. The present invention relates to a document editing server capable of supporting simultaneous editing between users in a joint editing environment and a method of operation thereof.
