Method for producing carotenoid-containing composition and carotenoid-containing composition

Despite the extraction and purification from a culture of microorganisms producing carotenoids containing astaxanthin in a simple process using a conventionally known solvent called lower alcohol, the decomposition of the carotenoids is suppressed to prevent the high content of astaxanthin and high purity. A method of obtaining a carotenoid-containing composition containing a carotenoid and having a good crystallinity has been developed. Furthermore, it succeeded in improving the yield of carotenoids by adding a simple process that promotes the isomerization of astaxanthin.
