The present invention relates to an optimum capacity design method of a battery for fusion power generation for fusion power generation system composed of a photovoltaic power generator and a battery. The optimum capacity design method comprises: a data input step of inputting data required for calculating an amount of photovoltaic power generation; a power generation amount calculation step of calculating amount of photovoltaic power generation based on the data inputted in the data input step; an optimization condition input step of inputting an optimization condition for optimization calculation; an objective function selection step of selecting an objective function to be applied to an optimization calculation step; an optimization calculation step of calculating an optimal battery capacity satisfying the selected objective function; and a result output step of outputting a result calculated in the optimization calculation step.
