According to one embodiment of the present invention, provided is a sequential state discrimination apparatus which comprises: a transmission unit transmitting an initial quantum state which is one of two coherent states with a predetermined probability; a first measurement unit measuring a coherence state of the initial quantum state using non-optimal unambiguous discrimination (UD) and transmitting a post-measurement state of the measurement; and a second measurement unit measuring the transmitted post-measurement state using optimal UD.
