The present invention relates to a method and system for providing real time precipitation information based on vehicle rain sensor bigdata. According to the present invention, the method for providing real time precipitation information based on vehicle rain sensor bigdata includes the following steps: collecting vehicle rain sensor data from a plurality of vehicle terminals; storing the collected vehicle rain sensor in a bigdata storage; and analyzing precipitation by analyzing the collected vehicle rain sensor data based on a predetermined precipitation analysis algorithm. The vehicle rain sensor data can include a rain sensor signal value, vehicle position information and a data generation time. To obtain the precipitation analysis algorithm, a wiper operation moment is sensed based on a sensor signal value outputted from a rain sensor of a vehicle in a preset artificial rain environment, a difference of the sensor signal value before and after the wiper operation moment, and analysis on a correlation between the difference of the sensor signal value and precipitation in the preset artificial rain environment is conducted.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
