The present invention relates to a copy preventing method using a security color pattern. According to a first embodiment of the present invention, the copy preventing method using a security color pattern comprises the steps of: receiving a copy instruction for a document; extracting a first security color pattern comprising multiple first colors from the document; sequentially comparing each of a plurality of first colors with each of a plurality of second colors forming a second security setting pattern pre-set in a copy machine, and determining whether to allow copy for the document; and when the allowing of a copy for the document is determined as a result of the determination, controlling the copy machine to copy the document. Each of a plurality of first colors and each of a plurality of second colors are set to have L* value of a brightness indicator in a CIE L*a*b color space, a* value of a chromaticness indicator and b* value of a chromaticness indicator. The step of determining whether to allow copy for a document determines allowing of the document when L* value of a brightness indicator, a* value of a chromaticness indicator and b* value of a chromaticness indicator for each of a plurality of first colors are the same with L* value of a brightness indicator, a* value of a chromaticness indicator and b* value of a chromaticness indicator for each of a plurality of second colors or are set within a predetermined range.
