Systems and methods are described for automatically driving portions of a video production workflow according to specifications supervised by a data-rich storyboard. Embodiments of a new video production workflow in which most or all of the production expertise of a conventional production workflow collaborates at the storyboard stage of the workflow to architect a single data-rich storyboard according to concepts and rules. It works in situations. Rich storyboards are created and stored in a data framework that drives specifications across a workflow in a way that parts of the workflow can be automated and consistently repeated. For example, a rich storyboard drives the creation of automated coaches, for the capture and pre-auditing of individualized story assets from storymakers. The rich storyboard can then drive automated rendering of these assets into multiple, individualized storyline video productions, each of which conforms to the rich storyboard concept, rules, and specifications.
