Disclosed are a method for diagnosing misfiring of a single-cylinder four-stroke engine, and an apparatus thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method of the present invention comprises the steps of: generating an engine speed trend line by using an initial engine speed of an intake stroke and an end engine speed of an exhaust stroke in an engine cycle to be analyzed with the misfiring; calculating first and second distances (D1, D2) defined by a separation distance between an engine speed before and after stroke is exploded in the engine cycle to be analyzed with the misfiring and the engine speed trend line; and obtaining a to-be-compared value by multiplying the first and second distances, and determining whether the misfiring occurs by comparing the to-be-compared value with a threshold value stored in a map data form.
