The present invention is a method for preparing a catalyst for olefin polymerization, comprising the step of post-treating the surface of a dialkoxymagnesium solid support with a polar solvent to smoothly modify the surface of the support when preparing the catalyst composition for olefin polymerization, and the olefin polymerization prepared thereby It relates to a solvent catalyst and a method for producing an olefin using the same. According to the catalyst for olefin polymerization prepared using the dialkoxymagnesium carrier according to the present invention, an olefin having a high apparent density without fine powder can be produced.
