The invention also relates to an extracorporeal blood processing device comprising a device for carrying out a method for preserving the blood processing device. The device according to the present invention and the method according to the present invention comprise only a part of the dialysate system I of the blood treatment device comprising a volume located upstream of the sterilization filter 15 filled with antifreeze and sterilized from the dialysate by a sterilizing filter. It works on the principle that a replacement solution is obtained. The portion of the dialysate system containing the volume located downstream of the sterile filter is not subsequently filled with antifreeze. The device according to the invention 20 for carrying out the method according to the invention is separated from the rest of the dialysate system II in a safe and simple manner after the sterilization filter 15 has been removed. It enables the liquid located in the replacement liquid section to be drained.
