Invention is a method which involves preparing a protective medium (sucrose-gelatine containing 10 % sucrose and 2 % gelatine); growing indicator strain Bacillus anthracis STI-1 for propagation of anthrax bacteriophage; obtaining a concentrated suspension of an anthrax bacteriophage by a double-layer agar method, by extracting negative colonies from an upper, semi-liquid protective agar, a sucrose-gelatinous medium; preparing ion-exchange resin in penicillin bottles; sparing drying (dehydration) by applying a concentrated suspension of anthrax bacteriophage in a protective medium at temperature 0 °C to sorbent - ion-exchange resin of KB-4P-2 grade, dried to weight fraction of moisture of not more than 1÷3 % at optimum ratio of suspension of bacteriophage and resin -1:7; storage of dried cultures of anthrax bacteriophage in penicillin bottles at temperature 2÷6 °C.;EFFECT: declared method allows long-term storage of cultures of anthrax bacteriophages and their use after resuspension by resuspension at temperature 0°C in meat-peptone broth (MPB) for obtaining diagnostic preparations used for indication and identification of anthrax agent and in other areas of microbiology.;1 cl, 2 tbl, 2 ex
