The technical result of the utility model is to reduce the metal consumption and cost of the product by reducing the heating of the coils. Position 1 denotes a magnetic circuit, positions 2 and 3 are pole tips, the outer surfaces of which can be located both in one horizontal plane (this option is not shown in the drawing), and at an obtuse angle to each other, lying in the range from 140 ° to 180 ° (this angle can be less than the specified value), with positions 4 and 5, the body with a developed ribbed surface, consisting of two parts, positions 6 and 7 - excitation coils, positions 8, 9 - upper covers, positions 10, 11 - lower covers, positions 12, 13 - eyes of fasteners, positions 14, 15 - studs of fasteners with fastening nuts. The proposed suspended electromagnetic iron separator operates as follows. The iron separator clings to the mounting eyes 12, 13 to a load-moving device, for example, to a cargo crane or a beam crane, rises up and moves to the loading point. At the loading point, the iron separator is lowered, the windings are turned on (supply voltage is applied to the windings 6, 7). Iron-containing objects are attracted to the pole pieces 2, 3. The iron separator is lifted together with the iron-containing objects and moved to the place of unloading. Windings 6 and 7 are relieved of voltage. The iron-containing elements are separated, and the cycle of work is repeated.
