FIELD: oil and gas industry.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil and gas industry, namely to methods of searching for oil and gas deposits by means of seismic exploration and drilling of prospecting wells. Method of searching for oil-bearing formations in carbonate Devonian reservoirs involves studying by means of seismic prospecting of reservoirs with detection of oil-saturated thicknesses on upper – "U" of lower carbon and lower – "D" of upper Devonian borders of seismic-reflecting horizons. At that during seismic survey there calculated are calculated stratigraphic sections by the method of common deep point – CDPM 2D with density of seismic profiles of not less than 2 p.km/km2.
