FIELD: radar ranging.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar ranging and is intended for use in pulse-Doppler (PD) radar stations (RS) operating with high repetition rate (HRR) of pulses in close proximity target resolution mode. Said result is achieved by using reduced frequency of repeating probing signals, which exceeds spectrum width of Doppler signal of main GCST, as well as due to the fact that the device implementing the method contains a reference frequency of the repetition frequency, a generator of equal frequency bands and a computer of working frequency of repetition, which are connected to each other in a certain way.;EFFECT: avoiding the Doppler signal of the main group of closely spaced targets (GCST) of Doppler signals of additional GCST observed in one beam of the directional pattern (DP) of the PD RS antenna at distances greater than the single range RS in the HRR mode and moving at the same radial velocity.;2 cl, 8 dwg, 1 tbl
