Method for engine consists in generation of vibration by means of actuator in absence of combustion in engine. Actuator is part of vehicle acoustic warning system and generates car acoustic alerts in accordance with that vehicle speed is below threshold value and engine is disconnected. Detonation sensor characteristics deterioration is shown on the basis of knock signal amplitude generated in response to generated vibration.
