FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of preparing an aqueous suspension comprising a plurality of elastomer particles, a method of producing elastomer particles and particles of an elastomer for making elastomeric articles. Method of preparing an aqueous suspension involves polymerisation of monomers containing at least one isoolefin and at least one multiolefin in a reaction medium containing an organic diluent and an initiating system to obtain an organic medium; contacting the organic medium with an aqueous medium comprising at least one compound having a lower critical temperature of dissolution, with a deposition threshold of 0 to 100 °C; and removing, at least partially, the organic diluent to obtain an aqueous suspension containing elastomer particles. Organic medium contains i) at least one elastomer containing a copolymer of at least one isoolefin and at least one multiolefin, and ii) an organic diluent.
