FIELD: metallurgy.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to special electrometallurgy, namely to production of consumable electrodes for vacuum-arc remelting (VAR). Method involves melting alloy and casting it into long moulds with low taper or into cylindrical crystallisers on semi-continuous casting machines, wherein flat surface is made on lateral surface of obtained consumable electrode to obtain its cross-section in the form of a circle cut off by chord.
