METHOD FOR INDEPENDENT TREATMENT OF BENIGN PAROXYSMAL POSITIONAL VERTIGO ACCOMPANYING CUPULOLITHIASIS OF A HORIZONTAL SEMICIRCULAR CANAL

FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to otolaryngology. Patient maneuvers independently in the following sequence: in sitting position inclines head 30° forward and performs shaking of head – head turns to the right and left in horizontal plane with frequency of 2–3 Hz with deviation angle from median axis of 30–45° in amount of not less than 5 repetitions taking into account individual tolerance to each side. Then, without a pause, the head is returned to the median position and immediately laid on its side without changing the position of the head relative to the body. Patient retains this position until ending the faintness. After that, it sets in initial position. Patient repeats said maneuvers until elimination of vertigo when placed on both sides.;EFFECT: method enables the patient to independently eliminate otolithiasis in case of benign paroxysmal position vertigo in cupulolithiasis of a horizontal semicircular canal.;1 cl, 2 ex, 1 dwg
